About Lunchtime Organ Concert: Thomas Trotter & Catrin Finch

The internationally-renowned harpist Catrin Finch joins Birmingham City Organist Thomas Trotter for an hour of music for harp and organ. Former Royal Harpist to HRH The Prince of Wales, she is one of today’s most recognisable and versatile harpists, collaborating with musicians from Julian Lloyd Webber and Bryn Terfel, to the Senegalese kora player Seckou Keita which has resulted in award-winning albums and a BBC Radio 2 Folk Award for Best Band. She’s also a composer and has written a harp concerto for the BBC National Orchestra of Wales and a re-write of Giselle for Ballet Cymru.

Birmingham City Organist since 1983, Thomas Trotter is one of the world’s top-ranking virtuoso organists and was awarded the 2020 Queen’s Medal for Music. His fortnightly lunchtime concerts last around an hour and showcase the organ’s sublime delicacy and awesome power – as well as his own technical wizardry – in some of the most inventive programmes you’re ever likely to hear.
