Featuring special guests: Elle Chante & GreenMatthews

Since winning NPR Music’s Tiny Desk Contest in 2016, violinist, singer and songwriter Gaelynn Lea has captivated audiences around the world with her haunting original songs and new takes on traditional fiddle tunes.

In 2022, she contributed a bewitching soundtrack to the production of Macbeth on Broadway starring Daniel Craig and Ruth Negga. Now she will be launching her soundtrack album Music from Macbeth, released thanks to a Whippoorwill Arts Fellowship. Alongside new music from the album, Gaelynn will be performing a wide selection of favourites from her back catalogue.

One of Gaelynn’s biggest passions is promoting Disability Culture. She co-founded RAMPD [Recording Artists and Music Professionals with Disabilities] in 2022 and has since connected with d/Deaf and disabled artists globally, including Ruth Lyon and James Holt in the UK. She has also collaborated with artists as diverse as Michael Stipe, The Decemberists, and the industrial rock supergroup Pigface.

Elle Chante

Elle Chante is a musical self-expressionist based in the West Midlands UK. Fueled by her experiences, she threads her reality of complex mental health, disability and cancer into her work.

Whispering of painful and complicated subjects in an airy tone and twisting metaphors, her music has been described as ethereal, emotive and soothing.

Elle began producing in 2020 aiming to create more authenticity in her tracks, inspired by unique artists such as James Blake, FKA twigs and Sevdaliza. She released her first produced EP in September 2022, titled 'Into The Night'. To date the songs she has featured on have amassed more than 7 million streams on Spotify alone.

GreenMatthews

Chris Green and Sophie Matthews play English traditional songs and tunes in a thoroughly 21st- century kick-ass style. Using a beguiling blend of ancient instruments such as cittern, English
border bagpipes and shawm as well as modern folk instruments such as guitar, flute and piano accordion, Chris and Sophie breathe new life into material from hundreds of years ago, making it fresh, relevant and accessible for a modern audience.
