A true “aristocrat” of the violin is how Belgian newspaper La Libre referred to Júlia Pusker, while The Strad has praised her “magical simplicity”. The Hungarian violinist is being snapped up for concerto appearances with orchestras such as the Belgian National Orchestra and London Mozart Players alongside recital and festival performances and collaborations as a chamber musician.
She’ll show off all her skills in a terrific concert centred on music by, and for, violinists. There are contributions from virtuoso performer-composers Ysaÿe and Hubay, and arrangements of Brahms’s Hungarian Dances by Joachim and Kreisler, two of the greatest and most influential violinists of the 19th century. The recital begins with two delightful miniatures by Lili Boulanger and Debussy’s wistful sonata. Júlia has also commissioned an exciting new work for her Rising Stars tour from leading French composer Eric Tanguy whose Second Violin Concerto she has recently recorded.
