THE ROAR-SOME CREW ARE BACK FOR A BRAND NEW ADVENTURE!

With goodie bags the same shade as the iconic dragon, glittering golden crowns and stuffed Zog plushies held in children's hands, the press performance for Zog and the Flying Doctors began at the Rose Theatre on Tue 15 Feb.

Zog and the Flying Doctorswill arrive at our very own Town Hall, a B:Music venue, from Tue 23 Aug - Sun 28 Aug 2022.

This new adventure takes us flying with Zog, Princess Pearl and the knight Sir Gadabout as they help creatures all across the kingdom.

We meet a sneezing lion, a sunburnt mermaid and a unicorn with one too many horns.

But when a storm sends the trio crashing at Pearl's uncle, the King's castle, he is horrified that a princess would want to be a doctor. He locks Pearl away!

It is a testament to both the cast and the production team, when every song had the whole hall singing along. We even saw some of the stewards dancing!

And when the trio needed them the most, both the children and their guardians in the audience were up in arms, booing the King as he locked the poor princess away.

On more than one occasion, the whole hall erupted in a unified chorus with answers when the trio asked for help to succeed in their mission.

Zog and the Flying Doctors will teach you not only how to land, but also to soar

The songs were witty and charming, and there, in the lyrics, lie the empowering idea that we can be whoever we want to be—that as much as we learn how to land, we should not be afraid to soar.

As Pearl decides to be a doctor and princess both, it is heartwarming to see how this might inspire other little girls in the audience too.

ZOG AND THE FLYING DOCTORS

Based on the book by Julia Donaldson & Axel Scheffler

THE ROAR-SOME CREW ARE BACK FOR A BRAND NEW ADVENTURE!

Zog, super keen student turned air-ambulance, still lands with a crash-bang-thump. Together with his Flying Doctor crew, Princess Pearl and Sir Gadabout, they tend to a sunburnt mermaid, a unicorn with one too many horns and a lion with the flu. However, Pearl’s uncle, the King, has other ideas about whether princesses should be doctors, and she’s soon locked up in the castle back in a crown and a silly frilly dress!

With a bit of help from some friends and half a pound of cheese, can Pearl make her uncle better and prove princesses can be doctors too.

Based on Julia Donaldson and Axel Scheffler’s bestselling sequel, Freckle Productions (Zog, Stick Man, Tiddler & Other Terrific Tales, Tabby McTat) bring the creative team behind Zog, Emma Kilbey and Joe Stilgoe, back together for this truly modern take on the classic fairy tale.

Most suitable for ages 3+ but all ages welcome.

Zog and the Flying Doctorswill head off on tour from Sat 19 Feb and will arrive at our very own Town Hall, a B:Music venue, from Tue 23 Aug - Sun 28 Aug 2022.
