ChoirMaker is from the makers of the successful Singing Schools project “Singing Playgrounds” which for years has been establishing a culture of singing play in primary schools through training student-lead Song Leaders. ChoirMaker now brings the next stage vocal development to secondary school, with a suite of online resource and specially curated repertoire to establish a year 7 choir. Like Singing Playgrounds, ChoirMaker is currently free to Birmingham state schools thanks to collaboration with BMEP.
Choirmaker will be at Symphony Hall on Thu 15 December for a Spark Event to get Year 7s excited about starting a choir and learning a new repertoire.
Places are free to Birmingham state secondary schools thanks to the partnership with BMEP and B:Music.
If any teachers are interested in their Year 7 students participating, please find out more information about ChoirMaker here and sign up by contacting George.Davies@excathedra.co.uk
Ahead of the Spark Event, Ex Cathedra will be performing at Symphony Hall with Bach's Christmas Oratorio on Sun 4 Dec at 4pm.
From the exuberance of the opening chorus - underscored with pulsating energy from the trumpets, drums and richly scored orchestra – to exquisite arias and chorales, Bach’s uplifting masterpiece tells the Christmas story with music of great joy and beauty.
Associate Artists Ex Cathedra are internationally-acclaimed for their performances of music from the Baroque. This concert, performed with ‘period instruments’ as they were known during Bach’s lifetime, promises to be a very special occasion, and the ideal way to start your Christmas season.
