On Thursday 27 February, the Greater Birmingham Chambers of Commerce Awards 2025 took place in Hall 3 at the ICC, celebrating the very best in Greater Birmingham business and recognising the achievements of those who have demonstrated excellence in their field.
B:Music was nominated for two categories, and we’re honoured to have won the ‘Excellence in Contribution to the Community’ Award.

Rachel Cranny, Head of Development and Impact at B:Music, said: “We were delighted and extremely honoured to receive this award and for our work to be recognised in this way. It makes us even more determined to grow and sustain our activities. We are especially proud to raise awareness of the important role arts charities can play in improving the lives of local young people and communities. This award wouldn’t have been possible without the generous support of our funders, sponsors and donors.”

In addition to being proud custodians of Town Hall and Symphony Hall and welcoming global and national stars, as a charity, B:Music deliver an extensive talent development, education and community outreach programme every year. This includes providing access to life changing opportunities to experience and make music, as well as offering pathways into the industry for disadvantaged young people and local emerging artists.
We are passionate about removing barriers and making sure the benefits and joy of live music are available to as many people as possible. Our venues help bring people together and offer welcoming and inspiring spaces that serve and reflect the city’s diverse communities.

Over 120 performances and events in our venues each year are entirely free to access, and we provide bursary places across our talent development projects for those young people who would otherwise be unable to participate.
In the next few months alone, we will be pairing refugee artists from around the world with primary schools across the city, gearing up for our annual Summer School and bringing together hundreds of community singers in our mass choral project Community Spirit.
We'd like to thank the Greater Birmingham Chambers of Commerce for recognising B:Music's contributions to the community and congratulations to the rest of the winners.
