About Nashville Sounds in 'The Round Up'

Running time  Start: 11:30am. Interval: 12:20pm. Ends: 1:45pm

Birmingham's premier country songwriter night 'Nashville Sounds In The Round' is teaming up with London’s favourite songwriters round, ‘The Round Up!’ to present to you ‘Nashville Sounds In The Round Up’ for one morning only! After building its name in the capital city, the night is going on its first UK tour with Anglo-Austrian duo Two Ways Home as hosts. Joining them will be resident hosts and two-time British Country Music Association ‘Duo of the Year’ Gasoline & Matches. Artists are invited to tell the stories behind their songs in a Bluebird Café style ‘In the Round’ session, stripping the songs back to their origins and transporting the audience right back to the writing rooms.

Gasoline & Matches

Two-time British CMA ‘Duo of the Year’ and Birmingham Music Awards ‘Best Folk/Country Act’ Gasoline & Matches are a high energy, guitar driven duo, hailing from Birmingham. With cleverly constructed lyrics, close harmonies and melodic guitar licks, they are known for delivering sharp, energetic performances with playful humour and serious musicianship. Their debut single ‘Fool’s Gold’ reached No.1 in the UK iTunes Country Chart, gaining momentum when named amongst BBC Introducing's West Midlands Sounds of 2019. Touring the UK and transatlantic performances from LA to Nashville has attracted international recognition landing several major global brand endorsements.

Two Ways Home

Anglo – Austrian duo Two Ways Home are the songwriters Isabella MaK (Vienna) and Lewis Fowler (Gloucestershire). Opposites attract, which is certainly one of the reasons the pair were first drawn to each other. They may have stark contrast but music has always been their middle ground. After their inception in 2014, presenting 3 well received Eps, several standalone singles and a stunning debut album, they have crafted a sound, which pairs well with artists like Lady A, Fleetwood Mac and Mumford and Sons.

The Blue Highways

The Blue Highways are a British rock band based in London. Formed in 2018 by brothers Jack, Callum and Theo, the band is known for its modern Indie/American Roots-inspired rock sound coupled with Callum’s narrative storytelling. Acclaimed as one of the most exciting upcoming acts in the U.K. music scene, The Blue Highways will be showcasing at the AMAUK Festival in January, and releasing their much anticipated new album in early 2023. Recent festival appearances include Maverick Festival, Ramblin Roots Revue, Lakefest, Summertyne, and Dart Fest.

‘The Blue Highways have made an impressive sound in their latest EP, combining folk, country, rock and soul into a wonderfully enflamed piece of work’ - Maverick Magazine
‘The EP ought to be considered as good as any UK debut of its ilk since perhaps the first Grand Drive record’ - Americana UK
'With The Blue Highways clearly a band here to stay, this is a superb debut which perfectly showcases their talents' - Fatea

The Goudies

The Goudies (GOW-dees) are South Wales based, husband and wife folk-country duo — Sam & Beth Goudie. Their close harmonies and honest sound have drawn comparison with the ‘California Sound’ of 60s/70s Laurel Canyon and Americana artists such as The Civil Wars and Gillian Welch & David Rawlings. As singers and songwriters they explore the relationship of love, faith, and the spaces in between — always ending in hope.
