About Lunchtime Organ Concert with Thomas Trotter: Easter Week with Gloucester Cathedral Choir

Birmingham City Organist Thomas Trotter is joined by the sublime voices of Gloucester Cathedral Choir for a special concert to mark Easter Week.

The Choir of Gloucester Cathedral was established on the orders of King Henry VIII in 1541. The Cathedral Choir sings at seven of the eight choral services each week in school term time, as well as the major carol services at Advent, Christmas and Candlemas. Gloucester Cathedral Choir also contributes to the world’s oldest choral music festival, the Three Choirs Festival along with the Cathedral Choirs of Hereford and Worcester. In recent years, the choir has sung in the USA, Canada, South Africa and Sweden. In 2019 the choristers sang with the Berlin Philharmonic Orchestra in Berlin. The choir has made CDs of the music of John Joubert, Ian Venables, Emma Johnson and Ian King.
