About Girl Grind: Black Rock Takeover Evening

Join us for an electrifying afternoon of workshops as part of She:Music & Girl Grind’s Black Rock Takeover Day, a celebration of all genders, races, and backgrounds, with a focus on uplifting and centering Black women and non-binary creatives in rock and alternative music.

This high-energy, interactive session is designed to empower emerging and established creatives alike through practical skills, confidence-building, and collective creativity

Workshop Highlights:

  • Amplifying Your Sound: Hands-on techniques in vocals, guitar, and rhythm for rock & alternative genres
  • Smashing Stereotypes: A safe space for discussion around identity, representation, and reclaiming space in rock
  • DIY & Daring: Tools for self-producing, building your own scene, and thriving in non-traditional music spaces
  • Collaborative Jam Session: Wrap up with a group jam, bring your instrument or just your voice and vibe

Come to learn, connect, and turn the volume all the way up.
