Thomas Trotter is among the world’s most celebrated players and has elevated the tradition of the virtuoso organist to new heights. His fortnightly lunchtime concerts as Birmingham City Organist showcase the organ’s sublime delicacy and awesome power. This Christmas, Thomas will once again be taking to the Symphony Hall stage alongside the renowned Hereford Cathedral Choir. (link to show page) Following the concert, we are offering the rare chance to join Thomas for an exclusive meet and greet event.
All tickets purchased for this event will include a contribution to B:Music’s current ‘Amplify Town Hall’ appeal. As the charity responsible for both Town Hall and Symphony Hall, B:Music is passionate about protecting these iconic venues and supporting the next generation of artists and audiences. Opened in 1834, with the inaugural Triennial Musical Festival, Town Hall has hosted countless world premieres and leading artists of the 19th and 20th centuries.
As Birmingham City Organist, Thomas Trotter delights audiences with his regular lunchtime organ recitals at Town Hall, a tradition which stretches back throughout the venue’s history. When it was built, the famous William Hill concert organ at Town Hall was one of the largest and most technologically advanced in the world.
By purchasing a ticket for this event, you are helping us to upgrade facilities, support emerging talent and secure the future of the oldest events venue in Birmingham. The Amplify Town Hall project will help to uncover and protect archive material from within private and public collections, resulting in the compilation of a brand new digital archive and installation within the venue, making this extraordinary musical heritage accessible for the very first time.
All tickets will include a mince pie and a glass of Prosecco.
