Carers Week 2025: A Week-Long Festival Celebrating Carers in Birmingham
Delivered in partnership with Midland Mencap and Forward Carers.
B:Music are proud to be working in partnership with Forward Carers and Midland Mencap, to host an exciting week-long festival to mark Carers Week 2025.
We invite all Carers, their families, and citizens from across Birmingham to join us. Whether you’re currently in a caring role or simply want to learn more about the support available, there’s something for everyone.
The theme for national Carers Week is ‘Caring About Equality’. This festival is about bringing services to where Carers are, raising awareness of the vital role they play in our communities, and offering a heartfelt thank you for everything they do.
All events are free to attend, and discounted lunch offers will be available each day.
No need to book, just come to the welcome desk on the day!
10am-4pm Monday 09 June: Festival Launch
Marketplace Event at Symphony Hall
A free concert at 1pm will feature performances from B:Music’s Tea and Jam participants and the Halas Homes Sing and Sign Choir.
We’re kicking off Carers Week with a vibrant Marketplace Event and free concert at Symphony Hall. The event will bring together the Birmingham Carers Hub partnership in one place, making it easier for Carers to connect with support services, speak directly to advisors, and discover what’s available to them. You’ll also have the chance to meet and talk with teams from:
- Birmingham City Council Adult Social Care
- Welfare & Benefits Contact Centre Advisors
- Warm Homes
- Travel West Midlands
- And many more community and voluntary organisations
Throughout the day, take a moment to relax and enjoy live performances, inspiring guest speakers, and opportunities to connect with others in a welcoming, inclusive environment.
Stuart Lackenby, Executive Director Adult Social Care and Health, Birmingham City Council will be opening this event.
10am-4pm Thursday 12 June: Young Carers Day
A day dedicated to young Carers, featuring fun, creative, and inclusive activities designed to celebrate their resilience and offer peer support.
10am-4pm Friday 13 June: Older Carers & Dementia Awareness Day
A special programme for older Carers, with a focus on dementia awareness.
Join us for a free singing for wellbeing session, a communal lunch, and a free after-lunch performance.
This Carers Week festival is supported and hosted by B:Music and funded by The National Lottery Community Fund as part of Forward Carers’ Creating Carer Friendly Communities project – recognising and valuing Carers in all their diversity and making sure that Birmingham’s Carers feel seen, supported, and celebrated.
