Join CBSO musicians on Thursday 6 February for Schubert’s chamber masterpiece: his Octet for wind and strings.
Inspired by Beethoven’s Septet, with the addition of a second violin part, this grand work - retaining an intimate and personal quality – was commissioned and first performed by arts patron and ambitious clarinet player Count Ferdinand von Troyer.
