Henry VIII and Catherine Howard (The Birmingham Stage Company members Neal Foster and Emma Swan) delighted crowds at the Christmas in Cathedral Square Christmas Light Switch On earlier this week.
Neal and Emma were in character ahead of their starring roles in Horrible Histories: Horrible Christmas at Symphony Hall on 28 December, enjoying the local crafts, food and drink that are available until 17 December.
The festivities were opened by Colmore Business District’s very own Michelin-starred chef and restaurateur Glynn Purnell, and the event organised in partnership by Colmore BID, Birmingham City Council, Danter Attractions Ltd and Birmingham Cathedral.
Visitors to Christmas in Cathedral Square can expect live music from local artists, roaming street acts, the Snowdog Art Trail, and traditional crafts, ornaments and gifts from an array of independent West Midland businesses. There will also be a selection of pop-up food and drinks vendors, as well as the return of the much-loved Pigeon in the Park pub.
