Overview
Buckle & Boots Festival comes to Birmingham for a special takeover of Nashville Sounds In The Round, the city’s premier country songwriter night, in partnership with B:Music.
Hosted by multi award-winning Gasoline & Matches, this Bluebird Café-style session invites artists to step into the spotlight and share the stories behind their songs. Stripped back to their roots, each performance brings the audience closer to the magic of the writing room, where every lyric, melody, and moment begins.
Buckle & Boots isn’t just a festival, it’s a family. Since 2016, it’s been where country music comes home. Set in the stunning surroundings of Whitebottom Farm, Manchester, each May brings together the best of UK and US country for a weekend of live music, cold drinks, camping, and memories that last a lifetime. Born from a love of country music and a belief in doing things differently, Buckle & Boots has grown into one of the UK’s most loved independent country festivals, built on connection, authenticity, and a shared passion for the music. Now, that spirit arrives in Birmingham. From festival stages to intimate songwriter rounds, this take-over captures everything Buckle & Boots stands for: no barriers, no pretence, just people, songs, and stories. The kind of night where every lyric means something, every artist has a story to tell, and for a moment, everyone’s part of the same song. Buckle & Boots Festival is taking place 21st May – 24th May 2026
The Line-up
Gasoline & Matches
Gasoline & Matches
Gasoline & Matches are a high energy, multi-award winning, dual fronted British band combining close harmonies, melodic guitar licks and serious musicianship. Fronted by Birmingham natives Sally Rea Morris and Stephen Marks, they are fierce entertainers known for their tongue-in-cheek and much-loved song "Never Have I Ever" described by Bob Harris as “Clever, funny, totally original…and it’s Country!” They built momentum after multiple spins on BBC Radio 2, and never fail to get festival goers on their feet to participate in the infamous drinking game which inspired the song. As resident hosts of Nashville Sounds in the Round, their Bluebird Cafe style songwriter round at Birmingham Symphony Hall, it’s clear to see their contribution & influence on Country and Americana music in the Midlands.
Ryan Kinder
Ryan Kinder brings a deep well of life experience and artistic evolution to his music. From the clubs of Birmingham, Alabama to Nashville stages and national tours, his journey has earned over 100 million streams and a reputation for soulful vocals, electrifying guitar, and emotionally honest songwriting. He has toured with John Fogerty of Creedence Clearwater Revival, ZZ Top, Eric Clapton, Gary Clark Jr., Zac Brown Band, and Tim McGraw, among others. With his most recent project The Beginning of Things, out November 7, Kinder strips everything back, reconnecting with the songs, stories, and instincts that first set him on this path.
Payton Taylor
Payton blends country roots with soulful storytelling, creating music that resonates deeply with audiences. Inspired by her grandfather’s cherished record collection, she developed an “old soul” sensibility that shapes her unique sound. At 15, she moved to Nashville to pursue her dreams, writing songs by day and performing in the legendary honky-tonks of Lower Broadway by night. Since moving to Music City, she has collaborated with industry greats, opened for legends such as Charlie Daniels, and made her Grand Ole Opry debut at the historic Ryman Auditorium. Rooted in family and tradition, Payton’s powerful voice and authentic artistry connect profoundly with listeners. With her distinctive sound, she is ready to bring her soulful take on country music wherever she goes.
Jeremy McComb
Jeremy McComb didn’t rise through the system, he pushed through it. From back rooms and bad deals to long drives and near-breaking nights, he chose control over shortcuts. While others waited for permission, McComb kept moving, writing, touring, managing, and mastering every side of the industry. His career wasn’t discovered; it was built under pressure.
A sixth-generation Idaho musician, he carries legacy without privilege. His songs live between pride and regret, faith and failure. Blending country, rock, and folk with a darker, lived-in edge, he values truth over polish. His work has appeared on projects selling over six million copies, including a Grammy-nominated, triple-platinum soundtrack, not because it was safe, but because it was real. That honesty travels. With British CMA nominations in 2024 and 2025, 120+ tour days a year, and full independence, McComb keeps building, on his terms.
Matt Rogers
Matt Rogers is a dynamic and soulful country music artist who has been captivating audiences with heartfelt lyrics and a unique, distinct voice.
