Overview
Claudio Monteverdi’s famous 1610 Vespers never fails to astonish. Written on the cusp of the Renaissance and Baroque, it dazzles with vocal and instrumental virtuosity, burns with fervent devotion, and invites us into its intimate, sensual solos, duets and trios. Don’t miss Jeffrey Skidmore’s final concert before retirement – and an unforgettable opportunity to hear this music of extraordinary scale and invention.
Each half of this concert will be performed as an uninterrupted sequence, and the atmosphere will be quiet and still for extended periods. Audiences usually reserve applause for the end of each half.
Ex Cathedra is a B:Music Associate Artist.
