B:Music x Healing Arts Festival present: Live at B:Eats

23 Jun - 25 Jun 2026

FREE, no booking required

Overview

B:Music is proud to be a central partner in Healing Arts Birmingham, a landmark new city-wide programme exploring the role of arts and culture in creating healthier, more connected communities.

Taking place from 22–26 June 2026, Healing Arts Birmingham is the first initiative of its kind in England, bringing together organisations from across the arts, culture and public health sectors to champion the growing creative health movement. Led by Birmingham City Council and the Jameel Arts & Health Lab in collaboration with the World Health Organization, the week-long programme will feature exhibitions, performances, research events, policy discussions and community activities across the city.

The line-up

Joanna Eden: Tuesday 23 Jun

Ronnie Scott's Jazz Club regular Joanna Eden has 6 albums to her credit and is considered one of the finest jazz singer-pianist / songwriters in the UK. Her beautifully crafted compositions give life to personal and expressive lyrics, which - like her songwriting hero Joni Mitchell - question and reflect life’s changes.

Joanna's teaching and outreach work form a huge part of her output.  She taught Sam Smith for 9 years and this has led to her founding her own youth music project, The Garden.  Joanna’s work has also focussed on creative health projects including delivering songwriting programmes for people living with dementia. She has worked on these activities with Opera North, Saffron Hall and Anglia Ruskin University.

Pop Voices: Wednesday 24 Jun

Pop Voices is a choir that welcomes people of all ages and abilities with a focus on coming together to share the joy of music, mixed with a large dose of friendship. From performing at the Commonwealth Games Opening Ceremony, to serenading the Hairy Bikers for their Christmas Special filmed at Symphony Hall, to ambushing the Britain's Got Talent judges on their visit to Birmingham, Pop Voices always sing with such passion and energy, led by their ever-inspiring leader, Anya. Singing is a uniquely powerful tool in helping to tackle isolation and boost wellbeing and we’re delighted to welcome Pop Voices as part of the Healing Arts Festival.

Kris Halpin: Thursday 25 Jun

Kris Halpin is a Disabled artist and music-maker, known internationally for using the ground-breaking MiMu Gloves. Kris uses the gloves to overcome physical barriers to music making. The long-running live show, The Gloves Are On, has been seen by thousands of people throughout the UK, Europe, The US and Japan. The show was a finalist in The National Lottery Awards 2017 for Best Arts Project. Kris has been touring a new live show Two Metres Close since 2020, beginning with a pay-per-view performance from SAGE Gateshead. Kris has recently been seen supporting Radiohead’s Philip Selway on his UK solo tour.

Kris is one of the world’s leading MiMu Gloves players, having been working with the instrument since 2014. His original pair of gloves are currently on display at the Science Museum in London. Kris was named as a Future Sound Of Britain Trailblazer at the BRIT Awards 2024. Outside of his own artistic work, Kris is also the Artistic Director of SENSE, one of the UK’s leading Disability charities.
