News Story

A City of Birmingham Symphony Orchestra (CBSO) musician has sadly tested positive for Covid-19 and, in line with government guidelines and NHS Test and Trace requirements, a number of CBSO musicians have now been told to self-isolate. Given the timescales involved and the complexity of today’s planned repertoire, we have therefore had to make the very difficult decision to cancel today’s 2pm and 6.30pm performances at Birmingham’s Symphony Hall, a B:Music venue.

We look forward to inviting our audiences and musicians back to Symphony Hall next week, and details of a rescheduled performance date including the World Premiere of Thomas Adès’ The Exterminating Angel Symphony will be announced in due course.

There is no need to contact the Box Office. All ticket holders for today’s performances will automatically receive a full credit for their tickets on their account, and this will appear within 14 working days.

If you would prefer a refund to the card you purchased your tickets on, please contact the box office on 0121 780 3333 between 10am – 2pm Monday – Saturday, or by emailing boxoffice@bmusic.co.uk

We apologise for the disappointment and inconvenience this may cause and thank you very much for your understanding at this challenging time.
