About With a smile and a song: Music of Life Celebration Concert 2020
Music of Life, a charity that supports children with physical and learning disabilities through regular engagement in high-quality musical activities, presents its three special needs school choirs, SFE Music Service Ensemble, inspiring soprano Denise Leigh and sparkling female vocalists, Papagena, coming together for a vibrant evening of family-friendly music and fun.
Music of Life is running weekly choral workshops at Round Oak, Selly Oak and Woodlands special schools and, in collaboration with Services for Education, providing weekly 1:1 music lessons to students with special needs in 10 schools across Birmingham. This concert is a celebration of the students’ amazing achievements in a sparkling programme where they work together with Birmingham-based youth groups and ensembles. Featuring Music of Life’s Patron, soprano Denise Leigh, and Papagena (members of the group are also workshop leaders and music teachers for Music of Life projects), this relaxed concert is a perfect opportunity to enjoy a live music event for families with special needs members.
