About Nashville Sounds In The Round: The Weekend Sessions – Gasoline & Matches, The Jackson Line, Rosso & Zak Ford
Birmingham's premier country songwriter night 'Nashville Sounds In The Round' returns to the iconic Symphony Hall in partnership with B:Music! Hosted by British Country Music Association ‘Duo of the Year’ Gasoline & Matches, artists are invited to tell the stories behind their songs in a Bluebird Café style ‘In The Round’ session, stripping the songs back to their origins and transporting the audience right back to the writing rooms.
Gasoline & Matches
Two-time British CMA ‘Duo of the Year’ and Birmingham Music Awards ‘Best Folk/Country Act’ Gasoline & Matches are a high energy, guitar driven duo, hailing from Birmingham. With cleverly constructed lyrics, close harmonies and melodic guitar licks, they are known for delivering sharp, energetic performances with playful humour and serious musicianship. Their debut single ‘Fool’s Gold’ reached No.1 in the UK iTunes Country Chart, gaining momentum when named amongst BBC Introducing's West Midlands Sounds of 2019. Touring the UK and transatlantic performances from LA to Nashville attracted international recognition landing several major global brand endorsements.
The Jackson Line
With two lead vocalists in the shape of Keith Porter and Jamie Cook, harmonies were always going to be front and centre in The Jackson Line, who deliver a modern take on classic Country and Americana. With storytelling, harmonies and guitars at the heart of what they do, The Jackson Line are comfortable with the tag of ‘modern country band’, but with each member bringing a wide range of differing influences to the table, they create thoughtful, melodic songs, which capture the essence of country while allowing their other influences to shine through.
ROSSO are an Americana duo, with a “beautiful, melodic country vibe” as described by BBC Introducing. The duo’s tight harmonies, guitar chops have enticed audiences across the UK, from playing The British Country Music festival to supporting The Libertines.
Soul infused melodic folk has been used to describe Zak's sound with his honest whole hearted vocals and harmonious chords. Now in 2022, after releasing new material last year his sound has expanded into the world of modern production and electronic. Still honing his new sound after a break from gigging, Zak will be performing new material as well as old. “What a voice! You have to see this guy live to truly appreciate the passion and soul in his voice. Zak Ford is destined for huge things.” BBC Introducing. “Zak burst onto the music scene with soulful lyrics and heart trembling chords, carving a deep groove into the acoustic scene as a solo artist. With one impressive unfaltering voice, Zak Ford is not to be missed by anyone who loves gigs with a more relaxed vibe and is a lover of anything acoustic.” oneandother.com
