About Nashville Sounds In The Round: Gasoline & Matches, Alyssa Bonagura, Kenny Foster, Arbor North & Jessie G

Birmingham's premier country songwriter night 'Nashville Sounds In The Round' returns to the iconic Symphony Hall in partnership with B:Music! Hosted by British Country Music Association ‘Duo of the Year’ Gasoline & Matches, artists are invited to tell the stories behind their songs in a Bluebird Café style ‘In The Round’ session, stripping the songs back to their origins and transporting the audience right back to the writing rooms.

Gasoline & Matches

Two-time British CMA ‘Duo of the Year’ and Birmingham Music Awards ‘Best Folk/Country Act’ Gasoline & Matches are a high energy, guitar driven duo, hailing from Birmingham. With cleverly constructed lyrics, close harmonies and melodic guitar licks, they are known for delivering sharp, energetic performances with playful humour and serious musicianship. Their debut single ‘Fool’s Gold’ reached No.1 in the UK iTunes Country Chart, gaining momentum when named amongst BBC Introducing's West Midlands Sounds of 2019. Touring the UK and transatlantic performances from LA to Nashville attracted international recognition landing several major global brand endorsements.

Alyssa Bonagura

A celebrated songwriter, producer, and multi-instrumentalist, Alyssa Bonagura has spent the past decade fine-tuning a sound that reaches far beyond her Nashville roots. It's a sound that blurs the boundaries between genres, mixing the southern story telling of country music, the free-thinking spirit of rock & roll, and the cinematic sweep of Brit-pop into its own hybrid. For Alyssa—a lifelong road warrior who spent her infancy aboard a tour bus, recorded a duet with Kenny Rogers at 10 years old, received her college diploma from Sir Paul McCartney, performed stadium shows as a member of the major-label duo The Sisterhood Band, and currently balances her critically-acclaimed solo career with an ongoing gig writing songs for Jessie James Decker, Aerosmith frontman Steven Tyler, and others—it's also a sound that's every bit as diverse as her own story. Nowhere is that clearer than on 2021's "New Wings." Recorded during the pandemic, it's a song about struggle, survival, and the soaring feeling of flight, delivered by a multidimensional musician who's never shied away from unexplored territory.

Kenny Foster

Kenny Foster has shared the stage with artists including Maren Morris, Kacey Musgraves, Brothers Osborne, Lady A and countless others. He was named one of the "Top 10 New Artists You Need to Know" by Rolling Stone and has been featured in the New York Times, Washington Post, USA Today and Forbes. He has performed at C2C Festival in London, at the launch of C2C Berlin, and opened for Hunter Hayes in Amsterdam, as well as ACM Party for a Cause, Americanafest and CMA Fest in the USA, among others. Kenny recorded his second full-length record Somewhere In Middle America with GRAMMY-award winners Mitch Dane and Vance Powell at Sputnik Sound, due for release on July 29th, 2022, the long-awaited follow up to 2017's Deep Cuts.

Arbor North

With northern grit and southern charm, Arbor North was the result of a divine appointment-decades in the making-that just happened to occur in the right place at exactly the right time. Michael Boris (of the former country trio, Lockeland) met country artist, AC Jones at a music industry event in Nashville, Tennessee in 2020. Later that year, over text messages, phone calls, and Facetimes, the two began a long distance relationship which led to an “I do” on a beautiful Sunday in October of 2021. However, it wouldn’t be until almost two years after that first meeting that their musical paths would collide to create Arbor North. With a sonic landscape that combines modern country, rock, soul, and a little bit of funk coupled with lyrical content that is heartfelt and autobiographical, the duo strives to both write and self-produce music that is fun, memorable, and nostalgic.

Jessie G

Jessie G continues to make a loud impact on the country scene after her last single "Whatever This Is", penned by Jessie, Gretchen Wilson and Sarah Beth Terry stayed #1 on PlayMPE's downloads for 2 straight weeks, hit the iTunes Chart in th Top 40 and charted in the top 20s on the Music Row Charts, garnering radio airplay nationwide. The last few years Jessie G has played on some of the biggest stages and to crowds across the nation. Touring with and opening for some of the most legendary country and rock artists to include, Lynyrd Skynyrd, Kid Rock, Bad Company, Gretchen Wilson, Hank Williams JR., Dustin Lynch, Cody Johnson, Sara Evans, Brother's Osborne, Big & Rich, Ashley McBride, Jake Owen, Kane Brown and many more. With a new album on the horizon, Jessie is gearing up for her biggest release yet. Expect to hear a fresh sound of country- rock with help from the best songwriters in the business. This record will also have tracks co-produced and background vocals sang by Grammy award winning country artist Gretchen Wilson.
