About Nashville Sounds in the Round

Birmingham's premier country songwriter night 'Nashville Sounds In The Round' returns to the iconic Symphony Hall in partnership with B:Music! Hosted by British Country Music Association ‘Duo of the Year’ Gasoline & Matches, artists are invited to tell the stories behind their songs in a Bluebird Café style ‘In The Round’ session, stripping the songs back to their origins and transporting the audience right back to the writing rooms.

Gasoline & Matches

Two-time British CMA ‘Duo of the Year’ and Birmingham Music Awards ‘Best Folk/Country Act’ Gasoline & Matches are a high energy, guitar driven duo, hailing from Birmingham. With cleverly constructed lyrics, close harmonies and melodic guitar licks, they are known for delivering sharp, energetic performances with playful humour and serious musicianship. Their debut single ‘Fool’s Gold’ reached No.1 in the UK iTunes Country Chart, gaining momentum when named amongst BBC Introducing's West Midlands Sounds of 2019. Touring the UK and transatlantic performances from LA to Nashville attracted international recognition landing several major global brand endorsements.

Deeanne Dexeter

Deeanne Dexeter’s distinctive voice has been turning heads on the UK country scene since 2014. After a number of captivating live performances at The Country 2 Country Music Festival at London's O2 Arena and ITV’s This Morning to name a few, Deeanne is shaping her exciting new sound as a solo act and released her debut solo EP "Blind Eye" in October 2021, with 3 of the 4 tracks featuring on BBC Radio 2.

Tim Prottey-Jones

As founder member of Decca/Universal UK recording artists The Wandering Hearts, Tim received his Opry debut in 2018 in a bucket-list trip to America where the group shared stages with the likes of Chris Stapleton, Marty Stuart & John Prine in such prestigious venues as The Ryman Auditorium, The Bluebird Cafe & Graceland. The band toured extensively throughout the UK, supporting such iconic artists as Tom Petty, Stevie Nicks, Eric Clapton in a string of Hyde Park shows. Since leaving the band in 2019, Tim has been laying down the concrete foundations for a solo career, writing and recording a collection of sparkling modern tracks, with each of his four singles to date receiving their exclusive first plays on The Country Music Show with Bob Harris on BBC Radio 2. Tim has become a real shining light in the UK Country scene, championing other British acts and rallying fans and artists alike to push through the glass ceiling of country music here in the UK. Tim has his own radio show called “Homegrown” that airs each Wednesday evening on Chris Country Radio, the UK’s largest country radio station celebrating the best of UK country.


Namywa’s live music is a collection of dramatic, powerful songs speaking truth to power, with a fearless lyrical approach to subjects close to her heart. Using life as a muse Namywa write songs that deliver on true emotions, surprising listeners with a voice & aura way beyond her years, blending genres of R&B, Soul, Jazz & Pop music. Whether singing with just a guitar accompaniment or a full band her unique singing style is leaving music lovers feeling that once again, the world may see another great voice emerge from the region that amongst others, gave the world Joan Armatrading & Laura Mvula. ​ Inspired by artists like Amy Winehouse, Diana Gordon, Paloma Faith, Macy Grey & Tina Turne, in the live setting she is quite simply a force of nature with her striking styling & accomplished stagecraft, making her the focal point of an exciting live band. Loved by local fans, Namywa was nominated for Best Solo Female 2019/2020 at Birmingham Music Awards. She has supported the likes of UB40, Beverley Knight, Paloma Faith, Public Enemy, Brian Jackson, The Floacist, Jimmy Cliff, Teedra Moses, Jacob Banks, Etta Bond and Lola Young.
