About Music on Monday with Royal Birmingham Conservatoire: Rossano Law & James Druce
Rossano Law, born in Hong Kong, completed his Bachelor of Music (Honours) from the Hong Kong Academy for Performing Arts in 2020. Law was the winner of the SliderAsia 2011 Open Competition. He worked as a freelance Euphonium Soloist and Trombonist before coming to the UK. He is currently studying in the Royal Birmingham Conservatoire for his Master’s Degree.
James Druce is studying Trombone at the Royal Birmingham Conservatoire after achieving a First Class degree from the
Royal Academy of Music. James has studied with some of the most renowned trombonists in the UK and abroad. He
has played with ensembles including the Royal Philharmonic Concert Orchestra, Birmingham Royal Ballet Sinfonia and Grand Philharmonic Orchestra. James also enjoyed touring as Principal Trombone with both the Berlin Opera Academy and Pro Youth Philharmonic.
As a chamber musician, James has enjoyed solo recitals in Warwick, London, Leicester, Birmingham, Stratford-upon-Avon and Leamington Spa – re-imagining solo repertoire for trombone which was originally composed for different
instruments. James is also a founding member of ARC Brass Septet and is arranger in residence.
