About Moscow City Ballet: Swan Lake

From the cradle of classical ballet, Moscow City Ballet returns to Birmingham Symphony Hall to delight audiences with a spectacular performance of Tchaikovsky’s ever-popular Swan Lake. Presented in classic Russian style, with full orchestra, this is a truly captivating production.

The epic story of Prince Siegfried and his doomed love for Odette, Queen of the Swans, is magnificently brought to life in all its original splendour by Tchaikovsky’s hauntingly familiar score.

Swan Lake is a signature piece of Moscow City Ballet’s repertoire. The distinctive composition of the late Victor Smirnov-Golovanov, after the original Petipa - Ivanov choreography, is a precious legacy upheld by the new generation of principal dancers, adding a youthful exuberance to this renowned ballet.

Brimming with Russia’s best dancers, beautiful sets and stunning costumes, the company is at its outstanding best, performing to acclaim around the globe. Complete with breath-taking choreography and dazzling performances, Moscow City Ballet is not to be missed!
