About Gospel Revisited

Gospel Revisited Project celebrates the impact and influence of Women In Gospel, revisiting the works of pioneering lyricists and composers.

Arrangements by Ray Prince and Jonathan Silk revitalise scores of ground-breaking female lyricists for new audiences celebrating songs exploring soulful musical knowledge, talent and skill.

A fantastic opportunity to hear reimagined classics from gospel music forerunners such as Mahalia Jackson (1911 – 1972), referred to as “The Queen of Gospel” and heralded internationally as a singer and civil rights activist.

GRP Big Band Orchestra revives popular songs with scores influenced by gospel and jazz, composed by innovators including Albertina Walker, Shirley Caesar, Tramaine Hawkins, Dannibelle Hall and Sandra Crouch.

Perfect for lovers of gospel, jazz and soulful, spiritual music.
