About Good Friday St Matthew Passion with Ex Cathedra

Bach’s St Matthew Passion is more than one of the greatest of all sacred works; it expresses feelings common to the whole of humanity: love, anger, injustice, sacrifice, betrayal, suffering, remorse, helplessness and shame - communicated in the most sublime and emotionally charged music imaginable.

This concert will recreate elements of the Good Friday liturgy from Leipzig as Bach knew it.

Sung in German with English surtitles.

There will be a 30-minute interval and the concert will end at approximately 5.30pm.
